After a long absence, I'm finally back! I encountered a few problems at home and then was faced with an over-abundance of work from school, but finally everything is straightened out.
I'm going to get work on the article I've been promising for the Tsvaen'mol'khar tribe of dark elves including a listing of known half-drow progeny from the now-dead tribe.
It's good to be back! :D

Ahh....just the man I need to talk to!

Er, I proposed a little squabble with the dark elves while you were away, but really couldn't do anything without your help. When I find the entry I'll post it here.

Welcome back, Obsidian! Have you lost your name somehow?

Yes. :(  This always happens. If I leave an mb for more than a week, it will forget that I exist and I need a new account. Go figure.
I checked out my old submission on the Shivering Woods. My regards to the artist who sent in the picture.
Anyway, I'd like to hear about this "squabble with the dark elves" and soon I'll get back to fleshing out Greywolf. If I find the time, I'll also submit a few short stories about the Shivering Woods, Greywolf, and the Tsvaen'mol'khar. What the plots could be I do not know yet.

Okeydokey:)  Hope you appear more regularly here now, Obsidian.

BTW: Picture is from Enayla - it initially served as a background for another pic, but I thought it looks pretty fine alone as a picture of the Shivering Woods:)

Alright. I'm currently working on redesigning the crest of the Tsvaen'mol'khar. I hope to have something by tomorrow. I'll also be working on the first draft of the tribe history and known culture tonight.
If I have the time after rehearsal, I'll draw up a quick list of half-drow inhabiting the world.
Saturday I plan to do some more work on Greywolf if I have the time. I've got a busy weekend, but I expect to get some results anyway.

Here's a few points I have established so far:
-The Tsvaen'mol'khar were cold, harsh, and xenophobic, but not necessarily evil. They just liked their privacy. That explains why they bothered to attack during the war. The troops just got too close to the Shivering Woods and the drow took that as a threat to the privacy they had worked hard to get.
-There are eight known half-drow with roots in the Tsvaen'mol'khar tribe, and five more suspected. Most of them are perfectly content to just go about their lives, though there are exceptions.
-Physically, the Tsvaen'mol'khar and much slighter in build and more frail-looking than most elves with pale porcelain skin and bone white hair. The eyes are almost always grey or black, with an occasional drow with red eyes.
-There have been sightings of dark elves that some speculate to be Tsvaen'mol'khar, though there is no concrete evidence to this theory. To the majority of the world, the drow of the Shivering Woods are extinct and only their half-blooded progeny remain.

This seems like a good base to start working with. I would have done more, but I have a lot of work to do this weekend and I'm not getting any help. *sigh*

Okay, here's a few more details.
-For fun, let's make Greywolf one of the half-drow, yet he doesn't realize it yet.
-The Tsvaen'mol'khar had a certain bond with wolves, in whom they saw many similar qualities such as a loyalty to one's pack or tribe. For this reason, I want to include the symbol of a wolf somehow in the tribe's crest. Perhaps a wolf's head or paw print.
-It's not difficult to take this a step further and imagine that the highest ranking shamans in the tribe could shapeshift into white wolves and act as scouts throughout the woods, sometimes hunters and warriors.
-For the crest itself, here's the first idea: It has a black background with the crimson profile of  wolf's head howling at a white crescent moon at the top. The crest is bordered by thin-bladed swords with batwing quillons and intwined in the branches of larkentir trees like vines. To fill in the empty space, four runes will occupy the areas. They represent tribal loyalty, strength, discipline, and freedom. All of these were qualities highly regarded by the Tsvaen'mol'khar.

I'm sorry to say that after coming home from vacation, I hit the greatest snag of all to computer-based writing: Drive space. My computer will only save files to text or similar format in hte C drive, and that drive says that it has only 1k of space left. Even after I delete a bunch of stuff to free up the necessary space, it just fills itself up again somehow.
I'm going to have a friend look into this as soon as possible. In the meantime, I am happy to say that the article is finished, but the format would be incomprehensible if sent by e-mail. Thanks for your patience thus far, I just need a little more time.

what about saving some of it to freeservers.com? Might help with some disk space?

You should have at least 100 MB of free space on drive C! Programmers tip:
1.) Empty your trash-bin. If you delete something you don't really physicall delete it, but only move it to another folder.
2.) Go to the TEMP folder in your windows directory - it is probably completely full with useless stuff Windows generates. You can delete all the files in the TEMP folder (ONLY in this folder), Windows will warn you if files are in use, then you can't delete these files. But you can throw away the rest.

Well, I've fonud the problem: somehow the temporary net files keeps filling itself to the brim. Shouldn't take long to fix once we figure out what's causing it. I'll while away the rest of the time on editing.
So it won't be long now. :D

In your Internet Settings on Internet Explorer (Menu Tools, then Internet Options, General tab, Settings button) you can determine exactly how much space you allow IE to reserve for temporary internet files. Providing of course you use IE...
