   Kaeer’ dáár’ shín (Black Nights)
A human tribe of Caeel’heroth, whose main colony is in the Themed’lon Forests, with various settlements situated throughout the province.

   People/Race
They tend to wear black apparel, and a dark green mantle with dark-brown leather sole pads for stealth with the hide of the Tsor-Shota as armor. They are as tall as a man, but with a wider muscular girth. Their skin is less ravaged, then some of their  descendants from North Eastern Sarvonia. They have excessive amounts of hair and hairy bodies, a shaggy countenance appearance, which is attributed to their bloodline. Some of the leaders wear crowns fashioned from the tusk of a Woolly Boar as a sign of good luck, even their children wear little tusks. It is said to protect them in battle.

Weapon smithing is their only trade, brought down from their ancestors. Some of the finest assassins weapons are made in Caeel’ heroth. Two of  their known occupations are assassination and killing. Little distinction is made between the two here.  However, most families choose killing, which is also another consideration for banishment.  If the family hasn’t done a required amount of  killing or assassination of some type, they are exiled, thereby maintaining a semblance of populated order. Quite often whole groups of banished families, will gang up and threaten the leader with murder. These families are executed, on the spot immediately.

Most Black Nights carry, round three pronged bucklers made out of wood, with no design on them. The (aiguilettes) prongs of the shields, are wrapped with the tough scaly hide of the Tsor-Shota, which makes them that much stronger. These hides are also used in covering their huts (Bromers). Their most often used weapon is the Sarvonian Trenchard. Spear like weapons with some visible differences. One end is barbed, while the other end is sharpened to a point,  much like a harpoon. Because of its barbed end though, it has one fatal flaw. Many times in the heat of combat these barbs became entangled in their enemy’s flesh, and many black night deaths have been caused when they go to retrieve it.
Frequently Black Nights also commonly carry small weapons used for close in combat, like an iron-striker, but instead of wood it is made of iron. The handles of these iron-strikers, are wrapped with the cured leather of the Tsor-Shota beast. Their weapons and armor are always maintained, at a premium level of quality.

The famous assassin Temejin Tarter 50 b.s.-25 b.s., introduced a Bromer, as a hovel type dwelling, that still exists today. These Bromers were built are built in a cone shape, and  covered with the thick fur pelts of the mountain Bison, also providing them with an excellent source of food. The bromers were kept after the migration from R’unor, and used as a living quarters after the death of Temejin Tartar.

They are quite adept at stealth and have above average eyesight in the dark, because most of their activity is done at night.

The Kaeer’dáár’shin (Black Night) survives mainly by killing various creatures that roam the land. For example the Mountain Bison and the Tsor-Shota.

   Government:
Since its first colony in the Themed’lon Forests (25b.s.-0b.s.), it has always maintained a feudal like system. Their leader Temejin Tartar meted out land according to their importance. But since it was a relatively new system, not much change was made. And with the death of Temejin Tartar, what little social structure they had was brought down, and a simpler way was improvised.
The pelts of the Wooly Bear are prized, by the inhabitants of North Eastern Sarvonia,   particularly the hide of the Mountain Bison for its durable coat used in the building of Bromers.

   Festivals:
They worship the goddess Seyella, believing they have a higher purpose, thus forming the first cult. The cult is called The Cult of Aman, but is quickly relegated to paganism and is soon dismissed entirely. Many die in numerous Black Slayer raids, when they do not present arms, believing in the misguided notion they are special.

   Coat of Arms:
A basic wooden buckler with three prongs branching off of it. Each representing the three tribes of Northern Sarvonia. A dagger engraved in the wood and pointing at an angle, a representation of a long ago time

   History:
Most Kaeer’dáár’shin (Black Nights) migrated from the lands of R’unor after the Great Sundering, in (250-50). When rumors started coming from the Northeast of a warmer climate and more land, more immigration occurred and soon the Black Nights  were burgeoning in population.  Others soon came from North eastern Sarvonia, escaping the harsh, icelandic coasts, but many still remain. As more Black Nights escaped the harsh icelandic coasts, attacks became more common place, and soon neighboring tribes, like the Kaeer’óót’chén (dragon slayers), were fighting for supremacy.

During the Era of the Anvil 12000 b.s.- 10000 b.s., many of their weapons were improved, especially in the field of assassination, which is now a lost art.

250 b.s.-50 b.s.        Migration  from R’unor to Iceland of North Sarvonia begins, and first colony is established.
50 b.s.-25 b.s.        The Barmer is introduced by Temejin Tartar as a temporary dwelling
25 b.s.- 0 b.s.        most of the rest of tribe moves to a warmer climate of Caeel’heroth and colonizes the  Themed’lon Forests,  but they still  maintain the use of Barmers’.
10 a.s.-106 a.s.        prosperity lasts for approximately 100 years, but no growth occurs.
127 a.s.-132 a.s.        Temejin Tarter dies of old age and The Barmer is continued to be  used in his honor

Thanks Xarl and Judith.

Not bad for your first try Win. But I would think that Art would like more detail. Also when you do the history, try putting up the approx date first, then elaborate on the most important people/events that happened during that time.  As far as your people are concerned you did not mention what housing they live in. Also I see that they have no festivals, or coat of arms, not that they are necessary, just giving you some suggestions. Try bolding the main entry: EG Overview People Then subcatagorize the people as I have outlined in the general form. And then bold the dates.

Just some suggestions to help you out. Art likes lots and lots of detail.

Nice start, Winlok! However, some things to be mentioned here:

The Exechon was designed as a lizard species for the souther deserts of the Rahaz-Dath and the continent of Aeruillin. Therefore it is very unlikely that you'll find an Exechon up north. Maybe you can think of another beast?

Where's the exact location of this tribe?

As Capher has mentioned we should try to stick to a certain scheme from now on. Capher made some good proposals which we should try to follow (you should also add your name to the new Santharian Scheduler).

The last part, the History paragraph, should look similar to History tables you can find at the site e.g. at the entry on Nyermersys or about the Sophronians: Date first, then a caption, finally the actions taking place in present tense.

Winlok, the Tsor-Shota (giant mountain lizards) I'll be working on shortly would make sense. They are the main food source and clothing source for them, so perhaps the Kaeer'dáár'chén would prey on them as well.

You put in the Tsor-Shota (giant mountain lizards) and I can do that.

There wasn't much beastiary in Northern Sarvonia that fit, so that is very welcome indeed.
;)  thanks!

Also we have mountain bison (one of the symbols of Urtengor) although they haven't been elaborated yet.

I can do that for you if you like, so go ahead and use them for food and clothing.

Probably they will be long-legged, shaggy things, thinner than our buffalo, more like deformed camels with heavy shoulders and lots of black-brown fur.  Large, curving horns (can be used as drinking cups and food storage) and a thick-walled three-stomach system.   They live on fairly steep mountainous regions, feeding on fir, pine, grasses, mosses, and almost anything else edible.  Kind of like a goat in that respect!  Will give more detail (of course) later, but that could start you off if you need them.

Regards from the Bard
