This is still in progress though comments are accepted.

The Carnethians

Carnethians, Carns for shortform, are a race of raft faring people, who dwell on the seas of Caelereth.

Carns are dark skinned, ranging from a mocha to a mud brown in color. They are usually quite tall, around 1.8 peds, and rather muscular.

Coat of Arms
The Carnethian coat of arms is usually round, and each raft has its own symbol. The blue background, with a square upon it, represents the sea and their rafts. And then each raft, will have its symbol emblazoned upon it. In clockwise - left to right- order, the symbols are crab, whale, shark, and _______

The Carns are nomads by nature, they usually confine them selves to the far reaches of the sea, and will generally stay away from large ships of all kinds.

The Carns are amazing fishermen, and swimers by nature, and the younger ones usually learn to swim by age four. They are also excellent navigators, and can determine where they are by the location of the stars, moon, and sun.

The Carns build small huts on the rafts, or will pitch skin tents. These generally each house one familly.

The Carnethians usually wear simple garb, short sleaves and legs, that is made out of skin.

The main diet of the Carns is fish, and seaweeds of all types.

The Carethians generally use harpoons, and spears, made of wood, they are not fighters, and generally use these for fishing.

Currentmen: One of the most important jobs of the raft, is using the maps of the 'great flows' or currents, and steering the rafts using the massive wooden rudders.
Fishers: The most common job among carns is the fisherman. Fishers will use harpoons, and nets, as well as simple rods to catch food for the tribe.
Weavers: Weavers, or netminders, are generally women, who make clothes, tents, and nets for the raft, and will
Dancers: Dancers along with singers, keep the history and lore of the Carns, they must memorize the dancess, and the rythms, and dance at important festivals.
Singers: Singers along with dancers, keep the history and lore of the Carns, they must memorize the songs, and the rythms, and sing them at important festivals.
Farmers: This applies mainly to the whale rafters. Farmers live in smaller rafts, and will anchor over a large seaweed bed, and will tend to it for food every month, the various rafts pass by the clans bed of seaweed, and replenish the stocks.

The government of the Carns works on a council basis, each raft, is a member of a clan, and has an 3 elders who will decide punishments for crimes, and will decide where the raft goes. These 3 elders will meet with other elders once a month, when the clan council is held. The only time that all the clans meet is when the whale clan calls a meeting, or at the festival of rafts.

The Carns, generally keeping away from the large merchant vessals, and staying away from shore, will trade only among them selves, and some of the more adventurous ones, will go ashore, and trade for other items, though never metals, for these rust and tarnish at sea.

Natural Resources
Mainly fish, and the edible seaweed that the whale clan cultivates.

This section deals with everything related to the religion the tribe practices. No need to write a whole Religions entry, but the cornerstones should be placed here: monotheism or polytheism, which Gods exist, how do they (or are they supposed to) influence the tribe etc.

Holidays, Festivals and Observances
Festival of Rafts: on one of the few occasions that the Carnethians go ashore, is the festival of rafts. All of the rafts assemble at an island, and make repairs to the rafts, as well as recount the tales of the past year. This occurs during the month of ______

It is believed that Carns started as a group of Avvenorians, that put to sea and never returned. They are believed to have sank their ship off of a small wooded island, and began a new tribe.
