Well, as magical armor and weapons should be rather rare, at least the really powerful ones, maybe it would make sense hat they were mainly made to certain times in the past. Thought, maybe human artefacts should be mainly from times around the WoC as the human magic was very strong by that time, elven artefacts even older, dating back to the Empire of Fav'ai'cal'ar.

I think this thumb's rule would be fine I guess, otherwise it is weird to say that in present days magical armor is very rare but this and that guy made one last summer...

Well I am up to that idea.  But when you come to an enchanter and he enchants a magical weapon what happens then.

I would have to say they have a real good reason for having a powerful magiacal weapon that was made for them when they turned 18.  This is where your rule of thumb would come in place I would think.

Well, the role of the enchanters have to be yet developed. Are they more smiths that aid their skills with magic or are the mages with some smithing skills?
In general this rule would only assume that powerful artefacts come general from tehse ancient times as magic was stronger there and thus such artefacts more often created by powerful mages.

I would think that a enchanter would need the help of a skilled smith in creating a item.  When training in the field of magic one would probably not have time to learn how to smith with much skill.  One might be able to create a simple item like a simple ring which was poured into a mold to form it.  But other than that I would think that a mage would need a smith.

Also the greater the power in the item would help to date it.  More power = longer history(I didn't know what else to call it but I hope you get my point)  So a staff that could summon a golem would be very powerful thus it would be created when mages were very powerful in the ancient times.

I would not say that. Don't know but assume you need 4-5 years to learn mediocre smithing skills than you've still lots of time to study magic. Also an Enchanter would not learn it seperately but smithing and enchanting at the same time to make his own magical items so he would be skilled in both.

It's not like mixing a fighter with a mage. A fighter needs constant training or his skills will fade but an Enchanter could keep practicing in both fields and so stay experienced in both.

Well, that is how I see it, of course there can be also Enchanters who need a smith or work in cooperation with a smith but I guess you need some knowledge about metallurgy and stuff to be able to enchant it...

Well you got a point there.  But I still think that do better Enchantments a Enchanter would have to spend most of his/her time learning Enchantment spells.  I would think that a spellcaster wouldn't be able to learn a spell in a day, it takes many days or even months depending on the mages skill, and when it comes to greater more difficult spells it would take longer to study them and learn them.

So when it would come to better enchantment I would think that it would take the combined skills of a Trained Smith and a Trained Enchanter both to complete the job.

I'd say that it would be helpful to have both, and then both smith and mage could be more attuned to their individual work, but for lesser feats a smith-mage would be just fine.

ENCHANTERS DO NOT MAKE MAGICAL ITEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How many times must I say this!?!?!?!?

Enchanters enchant people. They screw with their perception. Imbuers transfer magical properties into things.

Going back to your original post Koldar, it all depends if these magical weapons.armor were massed produced and not unique. Some blacksmiths and wizards alike would sometimes mass produce certain items ether for there personal army, bodyguards or even just to get a name for themselves by selling magical armuments. But i would keep individual weapons and magical armor alike down to a minimum yes.

Don't feel like Xarl right now. Anyway, really impressive enchanted weapons are a thing of the past because Ximaxians have found that churning out vast numbers of things with tiny little enchantments is far more time-efficient and cost-effective. I mean, c'mon. Sure, you could make a set of Impervious Armor and sell it to a king for a fantastic price... or you could just enchant(imbue, I know, Tarq.) a few stones to glow in the dark and sell 'em like they were diamonds, or make a sword not need to be sharpened (You ask any warrior who does prolonged fighting. He'll tell you it's worth it.) for a year or so for a cost equivalent to the cost of all those reforgings, or make your moneybag shrink into a tiny ball when someone besides you touches it, or any number of other, similar little enchantments that commoners will pay through the teeth for. Suckers.

Sure, there are plenty dinky magic items, mabe even toys for children, running around. They're simple enough to make. But the TRULY powerful items would be ancient. WoC or before ancient. Since then magical skill has degraded, and thus all imbuements degrade over time. Only things made in the days when magic was extremely powerful would be able to survive to this day with magical properties in tact.
