Appearance

The Tsor-Shota, (TSOR SHOW-TAH) or Giant Mountain Lizards, are not considered beautiful beasts. These 3 three-ped long monstrosities remind the viewer of a cross between a lizard, cow, and an insane amount of flesh. The only part of them that could be considered attractive is their hide, which is formed of strangely lusterless black scales. Females are usually larger but weaker, and males are usually a bit smaller but more muscular. Their legs have claws that allow them to grip the steep mountainous rocks of their homeland.

Special Abilities

Despite their grotesque appearance, the Tsor-Shota's teeth and foreclaws are still much sharper than they appear, and they can move at unsuspected speed. Several opportunistic raiders have discovered this to their regret, about two seconds before their painful death. One of the more interesting features of this creature is that when being attacked, the Tsor-Shotak (singular) will become suspiciously hard to find, leading one to wonder if they possess any illusory capabilites. [The chronicler notes that this may just be the difficulty of finding an immobile black creature in the middle of a pile of black rocks.]

Territory

The Tsor-Shota are generally found in the regions surrounding the Celeste Mountains of Northern Sarvonia. However, they have managed to proliferate across Sarvonia, becoming something of a delicacy. Some nomadic tribes have adopted them as a source of natural armor. Also, if you spy Tsor-Shota, it is a fair assumption that a Psyrpent enclave lies nearby. Then, of course, your days are numbered if you let that slip.

Habitat/Behavior

The Tsor-Shota live in mountainous regions and plateaus. They also seem more prevalent where the environment is darker. This may be because they have some limited intelligence, and it is easier to hide in those regions. Then again, it might be a case of selective-death evolution. Your call. They themselves are willing to stay anywhere there is good hunting, but as they themselves are easily hunted...

Tsor-Shotan behavior is pretty simple. They hunt, they eat, they grow, intersperse mating... repeat until eaten. They quite simply wander from place to place until they die. One interesting exception to this is that they will avoid any place where one has been killed before. As a result, territory for them evolves as parts of the herd are killed.

Diet

The Tsor-Shota, carnivores, will eat rodent to dog-sized animals, provided they are easily eaten and don't fight back in packs. Not being picky, they will also scavenge from dead animals. Quite simply, the Tsor-Shota will eat anything that won't eat them too easily.

Mating

Come spring, male Tsor-Shota will attempt to wrestle some of the larger females in a rather confusing mating ritual. In a good two months, the female will lay five to eight large eggs in a nest. [quite good to make omlettes, as the chronicler can confirm] Three months later, they will hatch into half-ped long young. These will strike out on their own, eating anything they can until they obtain sufficient girth and age to defend themselves.

Erm... More?

Just one helpful hint. Put the Tsor-shota (plural) and Tsor-Shotak (singular). Right above Appearance, so people will know before hand. Without having to explain it.

Just a thought. Personally I think it looks super.

Very well done, Xarl! Guess everything's covered here, so it should be put on the site next update, together with your pic for the Team section;)
