The city of Aer'ylferian is nothing like he has ever seen before, and the Shendar becomes mesmorized with the sights before he realizes he has been gone an inordinately long time.  Ta'las visits Desert Rose and though his Aj'nuvic accepts some food, his bondmate snorts at him when he attempts to brush his fur.

Ta'las steps back and crosses his arms.  "I see.  I will return when you have regained your humor."

Desert Rose snorts at him again, but this time nudges Ta'las arm until the Shendar pats his flank.  "I will return later my friend," Ta'las says gently.  "We have come far, and at least the first part of our journey is finished."

Ta'las finally finds his way back to Talia and Terra's room, after procuring a plate of fresh fruit, cheese, bread and some other elven foods he does not recognize.  The Shendar rushes into the room.  "I am sorry, my friends," he apologizes.  "I have taken far longer than I thought, but this is my first visit to an elven city."

He places the plate of food down on a table, which he pulls over to the two women.  "I have no idea what most of this is, but I have tasted these," he says, pointing to a large, round piece of fruit with red skin.  "And they are quite sweet."

He smiles at Terra and Talia.  "Please eat, my friends."

Talia gives Ta‘las a broad smile and takes immediately one of the tasty looking fruits she doesn‘t know either. Swing gets one as well, though the aj will need other food, the tablet full of good things Ta‘las brought would be gone in a matter of a few minutes if Swing would be allowed to participate.

„Ta‘las, you know, that love goes through the stomach, and I think I love you already now!“ she says squinting towards him.

„Terra, eat, then we will surely win our war! “

Talia smiles to Terra as well, and with the food her  nearly indestroyable good mood comes back, despite all the misfortune and losses encountered lately. At least her wounds, physically and mentally, have healed on the surface. It will take some time though, till the scars of her soul will have vanished as well - at least as far as possible.

After what seemed his long absence Ta’las returns with a plate of cheese, bread and fruits that would certainly be easier on their stomachs than the dried meat Terra had been snacking on trying to quell her hunger. Terra nods in appreciation as well as quietly accepting his apology, then watches as Talia take a piece of unfamiliar and shares another with Swing, her good mood seeming to return. Nodding to Talia’s words Terra takes a piece of bread and some cheese.

“I still hold hopes.”

Terra eats her bread and cheese slowly, but it was much easier in her stomach and helped not only to slowly quell her hunger, but ease stomach upset by the heavy dried meat.

Ta'las smiles at the two women as they eat, pleased that his decision to bring light fare is sitting well with them.  He blushes a little at Talia's statement about love and food, and stammers, uncertain what to say.

After a few moments he replies, "you flatter me, lady Talia." Then he chuckles and adds, "but I must say it has been many years that someone has embarrassed me into not speaking."

Ta'las chews on another piece of fruit.  "Mmm.  I must find out what those are."  The Shendar takes a second and then looks around uncomfortably as the two women speak of a war they must fight and hopes they hold.

"There is something I would ask of you, but I understand that you do not know me yet and what my intentions are."  He pops a small piece of cheese into his mouth and continues.  "So I will not ask you why you have come here.  I swear though, that I was sent to aid you.  And whatever I can do to help, I will."

Quote:
"It is well."

He thinks for a moment before responding, "I doubt my name will be of much importance to you or your friends. Your presence here, I understand, is only passing; what use to burden each other with pointless memories when our minds should be clear for so much else? That aside"

Capher listens to the mans voice and though it seemed all was well, far in the back of his head a small warning bell began to sound.  Capher sighed, "Perhaps. As long as the Heart is safe," he said taking the Kao-Kao and sipping its flavor. The liquid felt good to his parched throat.  He leaned back and stared at the elf-man who had such smooth manners about himself.  Capher tried to recall if he could tell from what elven tribe the man came from but soon lost interest as he heard voices come from the other room.  His friends! Talia! Terra! and Ta'las! He recognized them all.

He rose, forgetting the most important rule; a man not willing to give his name in friendship, is a man whom you should not trust.  But his desire to be with his friends overthrew all thoughts of caution.  "I suppose all will be revealed in time.  Let us go and see what Seyella has in store for us, shall we?"  Capher asked as he walked out the door and into the other room.

His eyes fell upon Talia, lying upon her cot. Next to her was her AJ Swing and sitting next to her was Terra and Ta'las.  They had a nice portion of food between them all and were talking amongst themselves.  Capher's eyes misted. His friends, old and new.  He wondered about the ones that were not here; Koldar, his first stalwart friend and fierce warrior for good, Avour, the funny, yet largest hearted elf he had ever come across in his travels, Hajarein, the ice elf wizard and so many more that have come and gone.  One who leaves is replaced by another; as if Seyella and the Gods were playing a game.  Capher knew that the Gods played games, but this game was being played by someone and not by the Gods...though Capher could not be sure entirely of that assumption.

Capher raised his hand in anticipation that they might try and rise, "Stay seated my friends and eat.  I too am famished; not only for food, but for information.   Shall we talk while we eat?"

Capher.

Terra catches sight of Capher as he step into the room, Talia’s words and soft touch was soothing, but having Capher back among them eased her spirit even more. Her hand closes around her Moon Blade in preparation to stand and greet him, but he gestures and bids them to stay seated, so she just takes another bite of cheese and bread.

“Capher, I am sure there is enough for all. Are you alright?”

Terra's manner once again shows its subtle signs of ill ease as she decides to tell Capher they lost the Heart, though her voice was of its usual cool, smooth tone.

"Capher, we lost the heart. I don't think it's in the hands of those we appose, but I am not sure. The memory of it is not clear."

As Terra waits a reply she finishes her bread and cheese, and then takes one of the red fruits Ta’las had mentioned and another piece of bread and cheese. Terra bites into the red fruit finding more then less to her liking, not really being the type for sweet food.

Talia looks puzzled at Capher, when he seems to change  and speaks in a different voice. Somehow she is feeling unwell, hearing him setting so many expectations in her. Sure, she has tried to help, she was wounded, but she didn‘t feel as a princess of the desert, this was not they way, Shendar thought, she had just done what was necessary. When Terra asks him about this Sophronian woman, she is eager to hear his answer, though she had thought for a moment, that he had meant more than just a single person, more a tribe...

Garrek watches Capher as he enters, and stays long enough to see him greet old friends. Their attention on him, Garrek inconspicuously absents himself from their company. They will meet again; he is sure of it.

Ta'las nods as Capher enters and moves aside a little to allow him to sit close to Terra and Talia.  Capher seems well-rested after their long night, and obviously heartened to see his old travelling companions.

"It is good to see you well, old man," the Shendar greets with a smile.  "It would be good to have a chat about what it is you intend to do now, my friend.  Especially now that you are more the person I suspect you were before our first meeting outside the Quallian."

Ta'las pops another sweet fruit into his mouth and savors the taste.  "I'm going to have to remember to bring some of these with me when we leave," he says with a smile.

"Capher, we lost the heart. I don't think it's in the hands of those we appose, but I am not sure. The memory of it is not clear."

Capher sits down next to Ta'las a puzzled expression upon his face. "What do you mean Terra? The Heart is right here." He turns and looks back and expected to see the elf who had the Heart right behind him, but he seemed to have disappeared into thin air.  Capher rises quickly and goes back into the room he came out of, he looks and sees no one. is his mind playing tricks again.  He could have sworn that there was someone in his room, and that someone had the Heart was beyond question.

Capher turns back to his friends. "I could have sworn there was a man, a half elf, wearing a silver cape sitting in my room when I awoke.  We spoke and then I came in here. I assumed he would follow.  He seemed to know you all and that he was your friend as well.  Do any of you recognize this man?"  Capher asks. "Or am I losing my..." Capher let it hang.

Terra shakes her head lightly.

"Do not jump to conclusions of loosing your mind, though such a thing happening again worries me, I would not discount that that the person you described existed either. All I can remember is that the Heart was taken by a child, when he did with it I do not know, perhaps this man you descibed is femiliar to the child and so it came to his possession. We must also consider than the Heart was passed to more sinister hands, the demons that have attacked us since your parting came first in elven forms."

Terra conciders her next question very carefully, a deep dread hidden within her, the shadows of fear dancing almost unnoticably on her face.

"If the Heart were to fall into sinister hands, would all be lost? Do we still have a chance to succeed in our endevers?"

Nervicely Terra finishes eating what she had taken, and placing both hands on her Moon Blades wooden scabbard lightly, she pulls it a little closer to her in her lap.

Ta'las shrugs and looks at Capher.  "If you are losing your mind, then so am I.  The half-elf you spoke of was waiting outside our room last night and then again this morning.  He offered to put us up somewhere in the city, but I refused as I wished us to remain together."

"He looks just as you described him - a half-elf, dressed in bright colors."  Ta'las looks over at Talia with a smirk on his face and jokes, "perhaps he has married a woman from Aeruillin."

"It is unfortunate that he is not here to show us this heart you are speaking of.  If this is your reason for being here, then perhaps we should ask for the half-elf to return it."

Ta'las notices Terra pull her weapon closer to herself, as if she might feel threatened here in the safety of the healer's house.  "Unless he is one of these demons you speak of."

Capher sits back down slowly as he listens to first to Terra and then Ta'las. A sorrowful look passes over his face which makes him look older than the mountains themselves. He begins to talk to no one in particular. "I am growing too old I think for this buisness.  I would have never allowed such a thing to happen in my younger years.  My instincts and powers are fading.  In my younger days Eckra would have never found a place to invade my mind.  I would have known that the Heart was not with friends, but with enemies." He paused, looked at Terra. "Terra, Thalambath's Heart if it is lost to us must be found.  Ta'las I am sure that even you have heard of Thalambath's Heart.  That was one of three talisman's that we needed to find to finish our quest.  To lose it, is a loss, but maybe we can recover it. You say there was an elf like the one I described. That gives me hope that we can recover the Heart and my mind has not been compromised again.  For whoever has it, does not know what it is or what powers it possesses and was trying to find out.  At least that would be my guess."

"Terra, you said our enemies came in elven form, then why are we in an elven town?  What elven town are we in anyway? I know you probably told me before, but my mind was on someone else and I have forgotten," he asked, looking over at Talia and smiling.

“Capher, we are in the Quallian, and I doubt, that these elves here are our enemies, though... this Furchego was one of them as well, I didn‘t like him, but maybe he was already possessed of the demon? I don‘t know, how the place is called, we are currently, but could it be Aer'Ylferian, the capital which was our goal before we met the demon? I don‘t know more... „

They hear the request of somebody to allow him to enter , and after they have granted it, Lieofin enters the room:

" I'm pleased, I see you well, Lady Sturmwind!" He bows slightly to her

"And I see, you got all breakfast by now. I came to tell you, that we have notice, that our Leias will arrive in three days. Then we can call the high elven circle together and you will get all information we find important for you to know. I can you tell already now, that Siroled has still dreams and visions concerning you. So pleased, refresh yourself and have a nice time of rest, till we will meet again."
Another short bow, and he had vanished again, leaving the party back quite puzzled.

“Who was that?" Talia asks surprised.

Ta'las smiles and nods to Lieofin as the elf leaves.  "Lieofin is the elf who brought us here," he says to Talia.  "And yes, this place is Aer'Ylferian.  Though I no little of the geography of the elven forest, this is where we were led."

The Shendar then furrows his brows and looks strangely at Capher.  "Surely you jest, when you speak of Eckra.  He died centuries ago, and though you are old, you cannot be that old."

He sits back in his chair and wonders about his friend.  "I think perhaps you should rest a little further, Capher.  Much has happened these last few days, and I suspect you are still feeling the effects of using your magic to heal Talia."
